You Were Made to Build

"We are builders and creators at heart because the divine lives within us and the divine spirit is the creator spirit."

I believe that. It's one of my pillars. I'm a builder, and I don't think that's special to me. I think it's in you too.

Here's the idea I want you to walk away with. When you suppress the urge to build, you disconnect. When you step into it, you're in alignment. That's it. The rest of this is what that looks like in a real week. If you want the personal side of why I build, I wrote about it in Why I Build: From Somebody's Mind to Something Real.

The urge to build is not a hobby

A lot of people treat the urge to create like a side thing. Something you get to do when the real work is done. A weekend project. A someday idea.

I see it differently. That urge is the divine working through you. It's not extra. It's part of who you are.

When you have an idea you can't stop thinking about, a method you know helps people, a thing you keep wanting to make, that's not distraction. That's the creator spirit asking to be let out.

And most of us have been taught to put it back in the box.

We learn early that building is for certain people. The ones with money, or connections, or the right degree. Everyone else is supposed to get a job, keep their head down, and leave the creating to somebody else. So the urge gets filed under "someday" and stays there for years.

But it doesn't go away. It just gets quieter. It shows up as the idea you keep coming back to, the notebook you keep filling, the thing you tell your friends you've always wanted to make. That's not a fantasy. That's the part of you that was made to build, still waiting for permission you never actually needed.

Suppress it and you disconnect

"We can either suppress that spirit that's within us or we can choose to step into it and empower that spirit."

That's a choice. And a lot of people make the first one without realizing it.

It looks like this. You have the knowledge. You've helped people. You know you could build something bigger with it. But you keep putting it off. You tell yourself it's not the right time. You tell yourself somebody else already made it. You tell yourself it's not practical.

And then you feel off. Restless. Like something's missing even though your life looks fine from the outside.

"It's when you suppress the desire to build and create that's when you're disconnected from the divine."

That restless feeling isn't random. It's what disconnection feels like. The spirit is still in there. You're just sitting on it.

If this week you had an idea you wanted to build and you talked yourself out of it before lunch, notice that. That's the moment.

Step into it and you're in alignment

The other choice is to step into it.

"When you empower the creative and building spirit, I think now you're in alignment with the divine."

Alignment doesn't mean everything gets easy. Building is still work. You'll still hit the parts that are hard, boring, or scary.

But there's a difference between hard work that pulls against who you are and hard work that comes from who you are. One drains you. The other gives you energy even when you're tired.

Stepping into it can be small. Writing down the method you use with every client. Sketching the outline of the program you keep talking about. Telling one person you're building it. These are acts of alignment. They say yes to the part of you that was made to create.

You'll know you're in alignment because the work starts to pull you forward instead of you dragging yourself through it. You'll lose track of time. You'll wake up thinking about it. That's not obsession. That's what it feels like when you stop fighting who you are.

And here's the thing nobody tells you. Stepping into it once doesn't settle it. You'll feel the pull to suppress it again the next time things get hard or someone doubts you. Alignment is a choice you keep making, not a place you arrive and stay.

What you build doesn't have to be big to be real

People think building means something massive. A company. An empire. A hundred employees.

It doesn't. Building is taking something that lives in your head and giving it a form someone else can use.

A checklist is a build. A workshop is a build. A course that helps someone get where you've already been is a build. The size isn't the point. The point is that it didn't exist before and now it does, and now it can help somebody without you having to be there.

That's the part I love most. Watching something leave someone's mind and turn into something real. It never gets old.

If your knowledge only exists in your head and in your calls, it's still waiting. It hasn't been built yet. And you're the only one who can let it out.

Why this matters to me

Freedom Builderz was built so that people don't have to die without sharing their gifts with the world. That's basically it in a nutshell. Everyone comes here with a song to sing, and we get to build the stage. The creator spirit is what makes you want to sing it. Suppressing that spirit is how people end up carrying their gift their whole life and never letting it out. Building is how it gets out. That's why I do this work, and that's why I think you were made to do yours.

If you want to take the first small step, the Course Outline tool helps you pull the method out of your head and see its shape. And if this spoke to you, read The Song You Came to Sing next.

Frequently asked questions

What is the creator spirit?

It is the part of you that wants to make something that did not exist before. I believe it comes from the divine, because the divine spirit is the creator spirit. It shows up as the pull to build, teach, write, or shape something real. Everyone has it. Most people have just been taught to ignore it.

Why do I feel restless when I am not building anything?

Because you are suppressing something that is meant to come out. When you push down the desire to create, you feel disconnected, even when everything on paper looks fine. That restlessness is not a flaw. It is a signal that there is something in you that wants to take tangible form.

How do I start building when I do not know what to make?

Start with what you already do for people. The method you run with clients, the advice you keep repeating, the thing people thank you for. That is raw material. You do not have to invent something new. You have to write down what is already there and give it a shape someone else can use.

Is wanting to build a business a spiritual thing?

For me, yes. Building is how the creator spirit expresses itself through us. A business is one form of that. So is a course, a book, a program, or a community. The form matters less than whether you are stepping into the urge to create or pushing it down because someone told you it was not practical.
