Bringing Ethics Back to the Online Space

"Bringing ethics and realness, right, like authenticity back into business and specifically the online space."

That is one of my pillars, and I say it because the online space needs it. There are a lot of people out there who sell something, take the money, and disappear. You have probably met a few of them. Maybe you paid one.

I want to bring real support and real ethical practices back into the business space, and use Freedom Builderz as the platform to do it. Here is what that actually looks like, in plain terms, so you can hold me to it and hold anyone else you buy from to it too. It starts with support, which I wrote about in Real Support Is Not a Login and a Group Chat.

The online space sells and disappears

Here is the pattern. The sales call is with the founder. The copy is sharp. The promise is big. You pay.

Then you get a login. A group chat. An account manager you have never heard of. The person who sold you is gone.

That is not an accident. A lot of online businesses are built that way on purpose. The best people and the most energy go into the sale. Delivery gets whatever is left.

You can spot it if you know where to look. Fewer than three real video testimonials. A promise that something complex will be done in a couple of days. Work that was clearly generated with no human in it. And when you ask who is accountable if it does not work, a vague answer or a change of subject. None of those prove someone is dishonest. All of them are reasons to slow down.

It burns people. And once someone gets burned, they bring that fear into every purchase after it. The next honest person they meet has to work twice as hard to be believed. That is the real cost of bad actors. It is not just the money they take. It is the trust they break for everyone else.

Ethics starts with doing what you said

This is not complicated. Say what you will do. Then do it.

When Paul Chek talked about working with us, he called the team "unbeatable, a team that actually does what they say, exceptionally well." That line means more to me than any result number. A team that does what it says should be the minimum in this space. The fact that people notice it tells you how rare it is.

Doing what you said starts before the sale. It means only promising what you have actually delivered for real people. It means being specific about what is included and what is not, so nobody finds out later. And it means saying no when you cannot help someone, even if they are ready to pay.

If you want an honest read on where your own business stands before you buy anything from anybody, the Expert Score takes a few minutes and scores you across eight systems. No call required.

Real support means the person you bought from is still there

The biggest difference between real support and the fake version is who shows up after you pay.

At Freedom Builderz you get me for your one on one curriculum and strategy calls. No bait and switch to a junior account manager. That is a choice that caps how many people we can take on. We only take on 5 new clients each month, and that is the reason.

Here is how Heather Nickel described it: "I was googling, I was trying to figure it out on my own, I was completely lost so Hallelujah when I found him because he helped me bring my baby to life! Him and his team are amazing and they made the process easy. I went from scared, anxious, and not knowing what to do, to feeling supported and getting my program out there!"

Feeling supported. That is the part that gets lost in most of this industry. People do not just need a product. They need someone who is still in the room when it gets hard.

Realness means printing the terms

Ethics is not just how you treat people. It is what you are willing to put in writing.

A guarantee that means something prints its conditions. Ours says ROI within 120 days of launch, or we keep working with you, at no additional cost, until you do. And it says the other half out loud: it applies when you film the content, post the launch as planned, and go live on schedule. An honest guarantee tells you both sides.

The same goes for proof. Real names, real results, and the disclaimer next to them: results are not typical, and outcomes vary based on individual effort and circumstances. If someone shows you screenshots with no names and no conditions, ask why.

Realness also means being open about what you charge and why, instead of hiding it until the last minute of a call. I wrote about that in Post What You Charge and Why.

What to do next

  1. Audit the last program you bought. Who sold it to you, and who delivered it? If those were different people and nobody told you up front, write that down. It is what to look for next time.

  2. Ask every seller three questions. Can I see three real video testimonials? Who will I actually work with after I pay? Who is accountable if it does not work?

  3. Hold your own business to the same bar. List every promise on your sales page and mark which ones you have already delivered for a real client. Cut or rewrite the rest.

If you have real proof and you want to build with people who will still be in the room after you sign, book your build call. If you are still building that proof, the $17 Expert Freedom Playbook shows where your business stands and what to build first, without a sales call.

Frequently asked questions

What does an ethical online business look like?

It does what it says it will do, and it says it clearly before you pay. It shows real proof from real people. It stays accessible after the sale instead of handing you off. It prints the conditions on its guarantee. And it is willing to turn buyers away when it cannot help them.

How can I tell if an online coach or course creator is legitimate?

Look for at least three real video testimonials from people you could look up. Be careful of anyone promising a complex result done in a couple of days. Check whether a real human is involved in the work. Then ask directly who is accountable if it does not work, and listen to how they answer.

Why do so many people feel burned by online programs?

Because a lot of the online space is built to sell, not to deliver. The sales process gets the senior people and the best copy. Delivery gets a login, a group chat, and someone junior. Buyers feel the drop the moment they pay, and it makes them distrust the next person too.

How do I build an ethical online business myself?

Promise only what you have already delivered for real clients. Be specific about what is included and what is not. Stay in the room after the sale, or be honest about who will be. Post your terms. And say no to people you cannot help, even when they are ready to pay.
